About us:

Climate Amplified Diseases and Epidemics (CLIMADE):

We develop tools to predict, track and control diseases and epidemics in the most affected countries in the world. To use this data to prevent new epidemics and pandemics that can be amplified by climate change.

advantages

Long term experience with epidemics & impactful collaboration

The CLIMADE consortium brings together partners around the globe that have long term experience working with climate amplified epidemics and pathogens’ genomics. Partners include public health agencies, academic organizations, and the industry.
Vision, MIssion and objectives

Why, How, What?

To generate knowledge and develop tools to predict, track and control diseases and epidemics in the most affected countries in the world. To use this data to prevent new epidemics and pandemics that can be amplified by climate change.
VISION
To use the medical, scientific, and public health experience of epidemiology, ecology and evolution to help the world to create a robust surveillance system to quickly identify pathogens and track their evolution and spread to control outbreaks before they become epidemics and epidemics before they become pandemics.
MISSION
We propose the creation of CLIMADE, a consortium of global scientists focused on developing knowledge, surveillance tools and adequate interventions to decrease the impact of climate amplified diseases and epidemics.
OBJECTIVES
PORTFOLIO

our Projects

A recent systematic review found that more than half of known infectious diseases will be aggravated by climate hazards, the majority of which are vector and water borne. Although genomic surveillance has become critical in many parts of the world, very little is known about the genetic diversity of vector and water borne pathogens. In addition, ecological and epidemiological mapping of pathogens aggravated by climate is needed to identify and control outbreaks before they become epidemics and epidemics before they become pandemics.
